September 21, 2020NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (September 21, 2020)—Macken Cos. has filed significant revisions to its development plans in North Miami Beach. Approved three years ago, 5 Park was slated to have 417 apartments, 50,486 square feet of offices and 32,000 square feet of retail space in 19 stories. It would replace an office/retail center on 2.8 acres at 17071 W. Dixie Highway.Under the new plans, 5 Park would have an eight-story building with 364 apartments and 18,000 square feet of retail space. There would be no offices.Alan S. Macken, principal of the developer, said he changed the design to maintain flexibility and stay current with the real estate market. It would also make the project more cost-efficient.
